The Primera D Metropolitana is one of Argentina’s two fifth division leagues. The competition was founded in 1950. Clubs from the city of Buenos Aires and its Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area compete in this championship. The winner earns automatic promotion to the Primera C while those who are relegated get disaffiliated for a season as this is the lowest division.
