About Orange Sport 1 Romania
Telekom Sport 1 is a Romanian sports television channel owned and operated by Orange Romania. This channel was launched on August 13, 2010 as is widely known as the main channel of the Telekom Sport network. Telekom Sport 1 was initially known as Dolce Sport 1, but it started working as Telekom Sport in 2017.
As its name states, Telekom Sport 1 has covered a wide variety of disciplines over the years. Sports covered on this network have included football, motorsports, handball, rugby, basketball and wrestling. While most of the content aired by this channel has had something to do with international competitions, there have also been some domestic tournaments and leagues covered on Telekom Sport 1 and its sister channels over the years. Additional programming such as highlights and sports news shows have also been included on this network.
Speaking about football, Telekom Sport 1 has covered games for the local leagues, Liga I and Liga II, while adding Romanian Cup and Romanian Super Cup matches. European leagues such as La Liga, the Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A, and lower-tier leagues such as the 2. Bundesliga have also been included in the channel’s programming. Added to that, continental tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup have been covered by Telekom Sport 1.
Telekom Sport 1 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed of the channel saw the light in March 2011. Both feeds may still be available to watch in different pay-tv carriers across the country.
