About StarTimes App
Star Times Sports is a network of sports channels that broadcasts content in Sub-Saharan Africa. The network’s first attempt to broadcast sports came in 2012, when the company acquired broadcasting rights to air games for the Italian Serie A. The first Star Times channel saw the light on July 19, 2014.
Over the years, StarTimes Sports has covered some of the most popular disciplines in the world, including football, basketball, motorsport, rugby, aquatics, tennis, boxing, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, golf, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and more. The network has divided its coverage into specific channels over the years, which have included StarTimes Sports Arena, StarTimes Sports Focus, StarTimes Sports Life, StarTimes Sports Premium, StarTimes World Football, and StarTimes Sports 1, StarTimes Sports 2, and StarTimes Sports 3.
The StarTimes App was launched to cover most of the activity covered by the network’s terrestrial channels. Speaking about football, the app has covered games for the following leagues: the Bundesliga, the French Ligue 1, the Italian Serie A, the Chinese Super League, the Mexican Primera División, the FA Cup, the Coppa Italia, and the Spanish Copa del Rey. International club competitions have included the UEFA Europa League and the International Champions Cup. On top of that, national team games have also been streamed on this app, with tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Nations League, and FIFA World Cup Qualifiers being covered on this mobile app as time has gone by.
The StarTimes App has been available for download on most mobile phones and tablets working with Android and iOS.

![]() | UEFA Europa League (2018-2021) Pay-TV broadcaster StarTimes has acquired media rights for the UEFA Europa League in Africa. The network, which operates in numerous Sub-Saharan countries including Kenya and Nigeria, struck a three-season deal set to run until 2021. As part of their agreement with UEFA, StarTimes will show 205 live Europa League matches every season, totaling 615 games throughout the period of their contract.More detailsMatches will be broadcast live on the broadcaster’s HD channels, including World Football, Sports Premium and Sports Arena. Select games may also be aired in 4K Ultra HD. Subscribers will be able to stream all the matches online on StarTimes ON – the TV operator’s over-the-top (OTT) service available for computers and mobile devices. |

The deal between StarTimes and LaLiga covers four seasons, from 2020-21 to 2023-24 and includes all 380 matches. The games will be aired in 47 African countries on television and will be available to stream live online on StarTimes ON—the network’s OTT platform. |
