About

ACC Network history, coverage, features

The ACC Network, commonly referred to as ACCN, is a television channel in the United States that is owned and operated by ESPN Inc. Launched in August 2019, the network was created to cover the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), a prominent collegiate athletic conference.

Although it was established in 2019, the ACC Network was announced by ESPN three years earlier, in 2016, during a media event following a 20-year extension of the network’s ACC rights. The channel's opening night featured the ESPN Films documentary “The Class That Saved Coach K”, and the first football game broadcast on ACCN was between the then-defending national champion Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on August 29.

In order to enhance coverage for the network, the Atlantic Coast Conference expanded for the 2019–20 season. Prominent shows on ACCN include Packer and Durham, All ACC, and The Huddle.

In addition to the main channel, the network offers a digital platform called "ACC Network Extra," or ACCNX, which broadcasts Atlantic Coast Conference events that are not available on television. This platform can be accessed through ESPN+, ESPN.com, and the ESPN app for ACC Network subscribers.

Upon its launch, the ACC Network became available through various third-party television providers, including Verizon Fios, DirecTV, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, and YouTube TV. It was later added to Dish Network, Sling TV, and Xfinity. However, the availability of the ACC Network on these cable, satellite, and streaming platforms may change over time.
