British pay-TV broadcaster Sky Sports has secured a broadcasting deal with the Premier League, set to commence in the 2025/26 season and extend through to 2028/29. This four-year deal enables Sky Sports to air at least 215 Premier League matches each season, significantly increasing its football coverage.
Sky Sports broadcasts live Bundesliga games in the UK and Ireland under a contract covering the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons. The broadcaster shows the top-pick Saturday evening match at 5:30 pm BST. Subscribers can watch the Bundesliga live in the UK on Sky Sports+ channels or stream through NOW. All Sky Sports+ streams, including Bundesliga coverage, are available on the Sky Sports app, which also provides on-demand coverage and highlights.
Sky has secured linear and digital EFL media rights in the UK from 2024 to 2029 in a deal worth approximately $1.2 billion (£935 million). As per its long-term deal with the EFL, the commercial broadcaster covers 1,059 out of 1,891 EFL matches, including 328 Championship games, 248 League One ties, 248 League Two matches, all 15 promotion play-off ties, all 127 EFL Trophy games, and all 93 Carabao Cup games.
The EFL Trophy has all 127 matches broadcast by Sky Sports in the UK each season from 2024/25 to 2028/29. Coverage is available on Sky Sports TV channels and through NOW TV streaming, making the domestic competition available to both Sky subscribers and non-subscribers.
Sky Sports is the home of the Carabao Cup in the United Kingdom and Ireland with all 93 matches from the competition each season shown live on the subscription-based platform. Select matches from the Carabao Cup are shown on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event with all other matches shown on Sky Sports+.
Sky Sports UK has committed to broadcasting a minimum of 248 Sky Bet League One matches each season throughout its five-year agreement with the EFL, which covers seasons from 2024/25 to 2028/29. The English League One matches on Sky Sports television channels are also available for streaming on NOW TV, targeting viewers beyond Sky’s traditional subscriber base.
The EFL has agreed to a deal that sees pay-television broadcaster Sky Sports UK cover 248 Sky Bet League Two matches per season for five years, from 2024/25 to 2028/29. These League Two broadcasts are accessible on Sky Sports television channels and via NOW TV streaming, broadening the reach to include non-subscribers.
Sky has extended its Women’s Super League broadcast rights deal in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, securing the rights to 90 percent of WSL games each season for five years, from 2025-26 through 2029-30. As a result, WSL fans in the UK and the Republic of Ireland can watch 118 Women’s Super League games per season live on Sky and the Sky Sports channels, with 78 of those fixtures exclusive to the pay-TV broadcaster.
Sky TV is the United Kingdom’s official pay-TV broadcaster of the Baller League UK regional competition. This comes as a result of a contract renewal between the broadcaster and the Baller League, the six-a-side soccer competition, with the deal agreed upon and coverage commencing in mid-March 2026. Under this agreement, UK viewers can watch every weekly game from the Baller League UK regional competition live on Sky Sports’ linear networks, as well as on Now (formerly Now TV), the Sky-owned over-the-top subscription streaming television service.
Sky Sports has the rights to show up to 60 Scottish Premiership matches each season after agreeing to a new seven-year deal with the SPFL in 2022 until the end of the 2028-29 season. The deal, which is said to be worth around £150m, means that at least one match from each game week will be down on the pay-TV platform in the UK and Ireland.
