About Sportsnet One

Sportsnet One is an English-language sports channel operating in Canada. It is owned by Rogers Media and it held its first broadcast on August 14, 2010. Sportsnet One is the second most-relevant channel from the Sportsnet family, behind sister channel Sportsnet. Sportsnet One is available in over six million Canadian homes.

Curiously, Sportsnet One was launched as Rogers Sportsnet One, but the channel was renamed simply as Sportsnet One on October 3, 2011, maintaining that name up to this day.

Throughout its history, Sportsnet One served as an overflow channel to Sportsnet, but it started offering its own content as time went by. Original content aired by this channel included Toronto Blue Jays games, along with some Premier League matches. Sportsnet one is also used to broadcast sports that are not as followed in the country, such as cycling. Sportsnet One is also used to simulcast national events carried by their regional feeds to help with scheduling conflicts generated by such broadcasts.

Sportsnet One is available in Canadian soil on both HD and SD. Added to those options, Sportsnet One offers some of its shows and live broadcasts on 4K. Availability of each one of those services will depend on the carrier’s capabilities. Check with your local pay-tv company for further details.
