About
Sportsnet 360 history, coverage, features
Sportsnet 360 is a Canadian sports channel owned by Rogers Media. It was founded in 1994 as Sportscope and featuring news and scores from a variety of sports. In 1997, the channel was re-branded as Headline Sports, adding some anchored segments to their sports programming. Three years later, the channel changed its name to The Score, gaining notoriety for its live sports coverage. Finally, in 2012, The Score was sold to its current owner, and it was re-branded as Sportsnet 360.
Sportsnet 360 works as an overflow channel to other Sportsnet feeds, due to their licensing of North American sports. Throughout its history, Sportsnet 360 has broadcast MLB games and hockey matches. There have been other sports portrayed in this channel, such as NBA basketball matches. Speaking about soccer, Sportsnet 360 was able to broadcast the Premier League, FA Cup games, UEFA Champions League matches and UEFA Europa league ties. The channel has also broadcast the German Bundesliga and the 2006 and 2014 FIFA World Cup.
With its headquarters located in Ontario, Sportsnet 360 is a sister channel to Sportsnet, Sportsnet One and Sportsnet World, along with some of the network’s regional feeds. Sportsnet 360 is available on both SD and HD format, but the availability of each format depends on the carrier. Check the availability of each format with your pay-tv provider.
