RTL 7 history, coverage, features
RTL 7 is a Dutch television channel owned and operated by RTL Nederlands. The channel was launched on September 1, 1995, as Veronica, but it would eventually be rebranded to Yorin in 2001. Four years later, the network would change its name one more time to RTL 7.
Since its launch, RTL 7 has been categorized as an entertainment channel with the male audience as its primary target. Action films, reality shows, talk shows, and sports have dominated the channel’s grid over the years, in order to provide proper entertainment to its primary audience.
When it comes to sports, RTL 7 has aired content from disciplines such as football, darts, motorsports, and more. While motorsports events have been the cornerstone of RTL 7’s sports coverage, football competitions such as the UEFA Europa League have also been covered by this channel.
RTL 7 started broadcasting its content in Standard Definition, but a High-Definition feed was introduced on October 15, 2009. Whilst most of the channel’s programming is offered in HD, a downscaled version of the HD feed may be available for users who have not switched to that sort of technology. Over the years, RTL 7 has also been available to users living in Luxembourg.
