LiveScore App history, coverage, features
LiveScore’s over-the-top (OTT) service gives users in the UK and Ireland access to free streams for live football matches around the world. The platform was launched in June 2020, after the sports media company announced that it has secured streaming rights to Italy’s Serie A, following the season break that was enforced due to the Coronavirus.
At the beginning, the service only provided coverage for the Serie A and the Portuguese Primeira Liga. The aim was to offer UK users free-to-air broadcasts for some of the world’s most followed football leagues and tournaments. To carry out that plan, LiveScore partnered with OTT specialists StreamAMG to develop a cross-platform mobile application that would have both live streams and on-demand content. Products from StreamAMG that were included in LiveScore’s streaming service in its first release included the CloudMatrix automated distribution platform and the core MediaPlatform OVP.
The LiveScore app was designed to run on Android and iOS mobile devices.
The published listings of live, re-aired, and on-demand match and program events published on this website are broadcast by the official rights holders.
