Bayern is refusing to be budged at the top of the table. Their reign at the top is set to last at-least for two more weeks as Schalke and Frankfurt are seven points behind them.
Mainz kicks off the weekend with a clash against the difficult Nürnberg. Timm Klose is having a good season; as a result Nürnberg is extremely difficult to penetrate. However, Adam Szalai will be looking to add to his goal tally. Nürnberg is coming into this one on the back of a win over a rather lost Wolfsburg side. Wolfsburg has a tough task ahead of them this week. Leverkusen is their visitor.

Leverkusen is coming into this match on the back of an impressive four match winning streaking. Their previous victim was Fortuna Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf takes on Hoffenheim this week. Hoffenheim beat second placed Schalke last week. The final score was 3-2 in Hoffenheim’s favour. How Schalke failed to beat Hoffenheim was beyond Horst Heldt.

Schalke has a tough match to contest this week against Bremen. Bremen has been inconsistent as expected but recorded a hard fought 2-1 win over Mainz. Aaron Hunt struck twice. Schalke, despite being dominant in midweek, saw poor decisions by the referee take away what should have been a win over Arsenal. In order to keep up with Bayern, they have to win this week.

Their Ruhr rivals and German champions Borussia Dortmund have a tough match awaiting them against Augsburg. Dortmund conceded a 90th minute equalizer against Real Madrid in midweek. They should be able to beat Augsburg easily nonetheless considering Augsburg is finding it difficult to find the back of the net currently.

Last week, Dortmund drew against Stuttgart in a thrilling game. The Swabians have an incredibly tough game ahead of them against Hannover 96. Hannover secured a win over Augsburg by a single goal last week. Augsburg’s extremely decorated neighbours FC Bayern plays Eintracht Frankfurt in the biggest match of the week.

Frankfurt’s lacklustre draw against Greuther Fürth allowed Bayern to extend their lead at the top. However, Frankfurt is the surprise package of the league so far. When they previously played Bayern, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. The fourth Bavarian side in the league, Fürth, plays Borussia Mönchengladbach. Gladbach drew last week against Freiburg.

They gave away yet another lead. However, Freiburg’s players showed their spirit as they earned that late draw. They take on an HSV side which was playing quite well before they ran into a rampant Bayern. Freiburg is a good side and HSV might not win this. They need a win desperately though after a poor home result.

So, will Bayern win again this week? Feel free to share your thoughts on this week’s action?
