The 2010-11 Bundesliga Season provided plenty of surprises, headlines and thrills.

Unbelievable, Unusual, Unreal- These three words are the only ways in which this Bundesliga season can be described. This season has been even more dramatic than the 2006-07 episode which saw VfB Stuttgart crowned champions.
Yes, we all knew Borussia Dortmund would be champions in December. However, looking at the bigger picture, it is still quiet unusual to imagine that Dortmund is the side currently holding the Ugly Salad Bowl. Dortmund wouldn’t even have been part of the Bundesliga had events that transpired six years ago turned out slightly differently. Dortmund was almost bankrupt; yet they managed to change their policies and put together a brilliant side in just six years.
This weekend is all about the relegation battle involving Wolfsburg, Gladbach and Frankfurt.

Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Bayern München will finish in the top three regardless of their results on the final match-day. Hanover and Mainz will occupy the Europa League spots regardless of their results.
The winner of the German Cup Final between Schalke and MSV Duisburg will be the other participant in the Europa League. St.Pauli has been relegated following a thrashing by FC Bayern. Only three teams have something to play for on the final day: Wolfsburg, Gladbach and Frankfurt.
Dortmund conquered holders Bayern while ten-men Stuttgart beat Frankfurt.

FC Bayern’s lack of a “Plan B” saw them crash down to earth following a great victory at the San Siro. San Siro was the venue when Bayern hoisted their last European Cup in 2001.
Similarly, the Olympic Stadium was the venue when Dortmund lifted the European Cup in 1997 in Munich. On Saturday, Dortmund battered the bench-mark for all German sides, Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena for the first time since 1991.
Meanwhile, Stuttgart produced a great display as they earned a much needed three points in the battle for survival. What was special about the win was that they achieved the feat with only ten men.
