About England - Premier League

The English Premier League (EPL), officially called the Barclays Premier League after its current sponsor, the Barclays Bank is England's top club league competition. The league in its current format was founded on February 20, 1992 and is composed of 20 teams that play 38 rounds to contest the title. The bottom placed three teams are relegated to the Football League Championship while three new clubs gain promotion. AFC Bournemouth, Norwich City and Watford gained promotion for the 2015-16 English Premier League campaign, replacing relegated clubs Burnley, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers. The current champions are Chelsea FC who won it with 87 points, 8 points clear of the 2nd placed team Manchester City.

The 2015-16 Premier League season will run from August 8, 2015 until May 15, 2016. The Premier League is in its 24th season. Manchester United is the most successful club with 13 titles to its name.
