Atletico Madrid start the defense of their UEFA Europa League title against Aris tonight. Goalkeeper David de Gea has urged his team to take all three points.
The teenager avowed how tough the match could be, but he has also put a lot of emphasis on the importance of kick-off Atletico Madrid’s European campaign with a victory. In a press conference ahead of the game, David de Gea stated:
“It’s going to be difficult. It’s our first game in the Europa League and we are aware that it is important to grab a win. We are looking forward to starting well.

“The pitch is tiny and the fans [of Aris] will put pressure on us. But, we are used to this sort of thing and we have to win the match above all.”

It’s too early to think about the final, so David de Gea prefers to take things slowly. He concluded:

“We are trying to win the UEFA Europa League once again. We look forward to that. But we’ll go game by game. We will try to go as far as we can.”

Atletico Madrid are in Group B with second-favorites Bayer Leverkusen who will be at home to Rosenborg on Thursday night.
