What to look out for?

There are several interesting showdowns set to take place. The Boxing Day clash between Leicester City and Liverpool is the most intriguing as it will see the league’s top two sides lock horns. The Foxes have played a game extra but are aiming to end a two-game winless run in the league when they host the Reds. Klopp’s side, meanwhile, remain unbeaten this season and will give it their all to keep that intact despite their grueling FIFA Club World Cup endeavor.

Man City will also be in for two tricky fixtures. First, they must travel to Wolves, the team that beat them 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day. Then, the Citizens will host an Everton side led by new manager Carlo Ancelotti. Guardiola is aware that catching up with Liverpool will be difficult but Sterling and Co. are only a point behind Leicester and will need to win every game nonetheless.

Chelsea recently beat Tottenham 2-0 to bounce back from their two-game winless run, which will give them confidence ahead of the festive period. A home clash with Southampton is first on their list before a trip to Arsenal in what will be the Gunners’ first home game under new coach Mikel Arteta.

The Blues aren't the only one who will be facing Arteta's side. Man United will be making the trip to the Emirates Stadium on New Year's Day, which should be another huge test for under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
