Fortunately for Louis Van Gaal’s boys, captain Wayne Rooney went from zero to hero at Anfield, scoring the decisive winner in the 78th minute to hand his side all three points.
Phil Jones, who was in the away stand with the traveling Man United supporters, could not hold back the excitement, as he was videoed celebrating the winning goal widely with the Red Devils fans.

Rooney did, however, set a new league record in the winner over Liverpool, becoming the player with the most goals for a single club in the English Premier League.
