Diego Milito scores twice as Inter Milan slaughter Parma at the San Siro to extend their winning streak to five matches.
Inter Milan moved within five points of league leaders AC Milan after thrashing Parma 5-0 at the San Siro stadium on Saturday, courtesy of two goals from Argentine hit-man Diego Milito and others from Thiago Motta, Giampaolo Pazzini and Marco Faraoni.

It was an extremely one-sided affair, as Inter completely dominated their opponents from the beginning to the end. Claudio Ranieri's side were always in control, and they went ahead in the 12th minute when Milito poked home a superb left-wing cross from fellow Argentine Ricardo Alvarez.

Five minutes later, midfielder Thiago Motta met a rebound with an unstoppable left-footed drive from outside of the area that left Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante with no chance.

The controversial 23-man shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award continues to upset football fans. It’s Diego Milito’s absence from the contention that is making the most noise.

Having scored no goals but one own goal this season, Inter Milan’s star striker Diego Milito is angry. But Coach Rafael Benitez is confident of happy days ahead for the European footballer of the Year…
Since rounding up Inter Milan’s 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the final of the 2009/2010 UEFA Champions League, the Argentine forward hasn’t found the back of the net in a competitive fixture. Against Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup earlier in August, Diego Milito wasted a penalty as Inter Milan went on to lose 2-0 to their opponents.

Now in five matches this season, the striker hasn’t scored a single goal and he has been substituted in each of Inter Milan’s Serie A games. Last weekend, the treble winners played Palermo in the league but Diego Milito didn’t last on the pitch until full time as he was called off by Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez.

The Argentine was spotted asking, ‘why is it that I’m always the one to come off?’.
