The Reds host Eddie Howe's tricky Magpies, but that isn't the only exciting fixture taking place this midweek.

The weekend has sadly come to end, but fortunately, this does not mean football fans have nothing left to look forward to this week. In fact, the midweek brings another round of exciting ties from three of Europe's top six leagues – four if you include the one Primeira Liga match that will be taking place.

And it's not only the domestic leagues that will dominate the fixtures list as the DFB Pokal, Germany's famous domestic cup competition, resumes this Tuesday, with two of the country's biggest teams taking to the field over the next two days.

Without further ado, here are the top matches to watch on Tuesday through Thursday.
