Andre Villas-Boas will guide UEFA Europa League favourites Tottenham Hotspur away to Tromsø on Matchday 5 of the competition.

Tromso will host Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on November 28, 2013Preview: A good opportunity for disgraced Spurs to bounce back

What went wrong for Tottenham Hotspur in their latest match? Who saw it coming? They were humiliated at the Etihad Stadium last Sunday in the English Premier League as they conceded a surprising 6-0 defeat against Manchester City.

Until then, Andre Villas-Boas’ defence had been generally solid in all competitions. But now, the young Portuguese manager has much to think about, when it comes to tactical plans.

The good news for Spurs ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League match away to Tromsø is that they are under no pressure. The London club booked tickets to the next round on Matchday 4 and can now concentrate on reorganizing themselves and restoring their confidence.

Meanwhile, Tromsø have nothing to play for. They are out of contention, having lost three of their four matches in Group K.

A massive gap of 11 points separate the Norwegians (1 point) from table leaders Tottenham Hotspur (12 points). Central defender Vlad Chiriches is not thinking about being gentle with Tromsø. The Romanian international told the club’s official website on Wednesday:

“It’s a good game for us. We need to take what we can from the last defeat and try to win on Thursday to boost our morale. I hope we can play to our best and we hope to win the game.”
