Manchester United vs. Liverpool FC Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET on ESPN Networks

ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes will present live coverage of Manchester United vs. Liverpool FC, two of Premier League’s most-successful clubs, on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 a.m. ET.

Manchester United vs Liverpool on ESPN.The match at Old Trafford is one of the most anticipated Premiership games of the season.  ESPN3’s coverage will be available in both English and Spanish languages.

Manchester United has 55 points – two points removed from Manchester City, which is currently at the top of the league standings.  Liverpool, with 39 points, is seventh in the standings.

Emotions will run high in the match.  In the last League match between the two teams, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez racially abused Manchester United Patrice Evra.  Suarez, who was subsequently suspended for eight matches by the English FA, returned to the pitch as a substitute last Monday in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw at home vs. Tottenham Hotspurs.

ESPN will be free to view for millions of sports fans over an unmissable weekend in February as the sports media company offers fans the opportunity to sample its extensive range of live British and international sport for free.
ESPN’s Free Weekend, sponsored by Nokia Lumia, begins at 6am on Friday 3rd February and will make ESPN and ESPN HD available to all Sky, TopUp TV and BT Vision subscribers in the UK and Ireland. Additionally, the channel will be available for free to the 10million UK households who have the subscription-free digital TV service Freeview, meaning that in total, some 20 million UK households will have free access to the channel.

Jeroen Oerlemans, ESPN Vice President, TV Channels Europe, Middle East & Africa, said: “Millions of UK fans have already discovered the great range of great sport ESPN offers – from the Barclays Premier League to Serie A, to cricket, darts, motorsports and UFC. Real Madrid-Barcelona tie highlights ESPN’s Copa del Rey quarterfinals coverage

ESPN will provide coverage of Real Madrid vs Barcelona (on Wednesday, January 18, 2012) and Barcelona vs Real Madrid (on Wednesday, January 25, 2012) on various platforms.
For Spanish speakers, the live broadcast of El Clasico – which will start at 3:00pm EST on January 18 and on January 25 – will be done in Spanish language on ESPN3.com, on ESPN Deportes and on ESPN Deportes Radio.

El Clasico coverage on ESPN Deportes will start with pre-game discussions via Futbol Center (at 2:00pm EST) and Fuera de Juego (at 3:00pm EST). Martin Ainstein will be teaming up with Jorge Ramos and Tato Noriega to cover the action live from the Santiago Bernabeu. Ainstein will work with Fernando Palomo and Mario Kempes during the second leg to be played at the Camp Nou.

ESPN’s 2012 Major League Soccer Schedule

The 17th season of Major League Soccer on ESPN will begin Monday, March 12, at 9:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes with the live telecast of the Portland Timbers vs. Philadelphia Union match from PGE Park in Portland, Ore.

The inter-conference matchup will be the culmination of Major League Soccer’s First Kick 2012, a series of nationally televised matches to open the 2012 season-opening week (March 10-12).
 
Highlights of 2012 MLS season:

Fulham vs Aston Villa kicks off ESPN’s coverage of the English Premier League

The English Premier League returns on ESPN this weekend with Fulham vs Aston Villa airing live at 9:30am EST, on Saturday, August 13.
The game will be broadcasted on ESPN Deportes, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com. ESPN’s Ian Darke and Steve McManaman have been appointed to call the action whereas Darrell Currie will act as the on-site reporter.

USA-Japan final breaks women’s game boundaries with ESPN & CBC audience record

The US ladies didn’t bring the 2011 Women’s World Cup trophy back home, but they helped the women’s game create a new record on ESPN and CBC.
Almost 13.5 million people (around 7 million more viewers than for record-holding match USA-Algeria in men’s football) are believed to have followed Sunday’s Japan vs USA final on ESPN. This puts the 2011 Women’s World Cup final fixture 6th on the list among the most viewed soccer matches ever in the United States of America.

In Canada, meanwhile, the USA-Japan final attracted a record 1.051 million viewers on CBC in terms of average audience. However, 3.219 million unique viewers in Canada reportedly caught a glimpse of the 120 minute encounter.

Among this large group of followers, 847,000 stayed tuned for CBC’s post-match analysis.

ESPN networks combine for the live coverage of World Football Challenge 2011

ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN3.com, ESPN 3D, ESPN International, ESPN UK as well as ESPN Deportes Radio—in other words, ESPN networks—have combined to offer all 14 matches live. It’s the World Football Challenge 2011 from July 13 to August 6, 2011.
The World Football Challenge commenced on Wednesday with ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN3.com covering the New England Revolution vs Manchester United match. In another top fixture, Mexican giants Guadalajara will clash against Spanish Copa Del Rey champions Real Madrid on July 20.

Manchester City’s pre-season games—exclusive coverage on ESPN UK & ESPN UK HD

ESPN UK and ESPN UK HD have confirmed the exclusively live and repeated coverage of Manchester City’s trio of pre-season matches.
It’s going to be an exciting week for Manchester City fans as the Sky Blues are set to play 3 pre-season matches during the next few days. Firstly, Manchester City will play Club America on Sunday, July 17.

A day later, they will entertain Vancouver Whitecaps. Note that a repeated version of the Manchester City vs Vancouver Whitecaps will be available on ESPN UK and ESPN UK HD on July 19. Finally, the Sky Blues will be up against LA Galaxy on July 24. This match will be repeated the following day.

Watch out for some entertaining football from Manchester City as new signings Stefan Savic and Gael Clichy are expected to feature under a Sky Blue jersey.
