German Bundesliga Matchday 9 - Soccer TV listings printable guide
German clubs put in a rather great show in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 each won their respective fixture. In the Europa League, Borussia M'gladbach and Bayer Leverkusen claimed good wins against Olympique Marseille and Rapid Wien respectively while Stuttgart avoided defeat at home to Kobenhavn. Matchday 9 of the German Bundesliga could therefore offer great football from teams in great shape.
After dismantling Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, third-placed Schalke 04 will face Nurnberg in the comfort of their home. Meanwhile, fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund will face Freiburg with the aim of minimizing the five-point gap that puts them behind Schalke. Werder Bremen trounced Borussia M’gladbach 4-0 last weekend and will try to build on that result when they face Greuther Furth. The latter seat one place above the very end of the German Bundesliga table; they have lost five out of eight matches.
The top game will see Hollywood FC entertain Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena on Sunday. Simultaneously, Hannover will host Borussia M’gladbach. The former must recover from a 3-1 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt.
