Transfer News: Malaga Get Bayern Munich’s Martin Demichelis In Loan Deal

Malaga have completed a loan move for Bayern Munich's unhappy Martin Demichelis. The La Liga club continues its stunning transfer window shopping as Demichelis becomes its fifth signing.
The Bayern Munich centre-back is set to remain with the Spanish outfit “for the rest of the season” as it was confirmed on Thursday. As of now, the fee for the player’s transfer hasn’t been revealed, but it is known that the 30-year-old Argentine international could make his move at Malaga a permanent one at the end of the loan contract.

It is also probable that Martin Demichelis won’t return to the Allianz Arena considering the circumstances through which he decided to leave Bayern Munich. The player was understandably struggling to cope with the club lately and this matter is something that had commenced since the start of the season. Ahead of Bayern Munich’s opening match of the 2010/11 German Bundesliga season which was against Wolfsburg, Coach Louis Van Gaal had dropped Demichelis from the team’s starting XI.

The German champions lost 2-1 to Mainz last weekend. Things aren’t going well for Bayern Munich who are 9th and 10 points off the top of the German Bundesliga table. Although some might have started to doubt the credibility of Coach Louis van Gaal, the club has had other ideas as Rummenigge explained:

“I always prefer to do things you might not expect. Anyone could renew a contract after a victory.

“But, even after the defeat to Mainz, we wanted to extend the coach’s contract. I think this is a good sign for the public.”
