The Bayern Munich centre-back is set to remain with the Spanish outfit “for the rest of the season” as it was confirmed on Thursday. As of now, the fee for the player’s transfer hasn’t been revealed, but it is known that the 30-year-old Argentine international could make his move at Malaga a permanent one at the end of the loan contract.
Bayern Munich aren’t free from troubles in the German Bundesliga, but in the Champions League, it’s completely different. The 2010 European beaten finalists are part of the few teams that can boast of a 100% record in the group stages of the Champions League although they had been tipped to face more problems with Italian giants AS Roma falling in Group E as well.
The German champions lost 2-1 to Mainz last weekend. Things aren’t going well for Bayern Munich who are 9th and 10 points off the top of the German Bundesliga table. Although some might have started to doubt the credibility of Coach Louis van Gaal, the club has had other ideas as Rummenigge explained:
Ruud van Nistelrooy is presently providing Hamburg with remarkable performances and he has scored three goals already in two German Bundesliga matches. The Dutch has subsequently emerged as one of the fans’ favorite, but some anxious people have started speculating about his future.
However, Nistelrooy is calm about this subject as he prefers to concentrate on his football. Talking to Hamburger Abendblatt, the HSV player stated:
"I often get asked if I’ll return to Netherlands to end my playing career. But I think that this is not a really an issue at the moment for me.
"Things can change quickly in the world of football and I’m aware of that. On that note, it doesn’t make sense for me at all to look too far ahead.
Diego joined the German outfit for a transfer fee of €15.5m. Wolfsburg released a statement on their official site, which was quoted as saying:
“Contract until 2014: Diego’s transfer is perfect. The transfer of the Brazilian, Diego Ribas da Cunha, to VfL Wolfsburg is perfect. On Thursday, Diego signed a four-year contract to June 30, 2014. The midfielder returns from Juventus to the Bundesliga, where he played from 2006 to 2009 with Werder Bremen.”
Juventus also confirmed the player’s switch. A statement on the Italian club’s official website read:
“Juventus declares to have finalized an agreement with VfL Wolfsburg GmbH for the permanent transfer of Da Cunha Diego for an income of €15.5 fully payable once the player has signed his contract.”
Hamburg SV vs Schalke 04 – Coach Felix Magath Doesn’t Entertain Fears
Statements from the manager on Schalke 04’s official website reveal how keen Felix Magath is ahead of the 2010/2011 German Bundesliga season. The former Wolfsburg boss stated:
“I’m glad that the time for preparation is over. I’d rather play away after a long summer break; the home team is under more pressure to win. I think we hold a good chance.
“Like in our team, the Hamburg squad has changed. They have strengthened.” But as Hamburg have shown defensive weakness, the Schalke 04 coach added:
Now ahead of this encounter, Klose has become subject to transfer issues. It has been reported that the German forward, who is yet to break "Fat" Ronaldo’s FIFA World Cup goal record, is being eyed by UEFA Champions League titleholders Inter Milan.
Italian media Tuttomercatoweb declared that the Nerazzurri are looking to fill the gap created by the selling of Mario Balotelli to Manchester City. Inter Milan Coach Rafael Benitez reportedly has complaints over Brazilian striker Philippe Coutinho who has been used as a supplementary player in this position.
