The Frenchman has been linked to a move to Manchester United this summer, and the Argentinean boss doesn't want his side to suffer if he leaves.

Atlético Madrid's transfer business may be on hold due to an ongoing transfer ban, but with their appeal set to be solved next month, Diego Simeone has made started to search for options to revamp his frontline in case Antoine Griezmann decides to leave the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Simeone has decided to bring two former La Liga players back to play with Los Colchoneros. One of those players is Diego Costa, who has always stated his desire to return to Atlético after his rather successful stint in the EPL.

Costa's bullyish style of play has always been praised by Simeone, and his return would be one that Atlético's fans would appreciate.

Costa was a key member of Atlético's 2013-2014 championship side in La Liga.

Atlético's second option would be none other than Alexis Sánchez, a player Simeone coached during his first coaching campaigns at River Plate. Griezmann's sale would give Atlético quite a nice amount of cash, which Los Colchoneros are willing to spend in order to have both of these players around.

Simeone's plans are still on hold due to FIFA's transfer ban, but the thought of having these players around would make Los Colchoneros quite a threat both in La Liga and in the UEFA Champions League.
