USMNT face Argentina; Los Cafeteros will lock horns with Chile, as the two semi-final underdogs look to make it to the ultimate game.

The Copa America Centenario is already into the semi-final stage, and although the odds appear to back yet another Chile vs Argentina final, there remains a glimmer of hope that the underdogs of the last 4 – USA and Colombia – triumph to book their spot in the ultimate game.

With the Stars and Stripes the hosts of this tournament, the home fans would love to see Clint Dempsey and Co. shock FIFA’s number one ranked national side with a win; Los Cafeteros also have a heavy hill to conquer, as they face a reigning champions high on confidence.

Chile vs Argentina would be a repeat of last year’s final, but USA vs Colombia would be a rematch to the tournament’s opening game, one which Jurgen Klinsmann’s boys emphatically lost 2-0. However, for the USA to get a shot at revenge over the defeat to Jose Pekerman’s crew, they’ll need to overcome a side that have only conceded once so far and have scored the most number of goals (14).

Beating Gerardo Martino’s side won’t be easy, but should the USA achieve this feat, triumphing over a team that boasts the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Sergio Aguero, and Gonzalo Higuain would hand them the confidence they need to go on and win the whole competition on home soil.

Although Colombia’s opponents don’t have a star-studded squad similar to La Albiceleste, and they’ll face a side without suspended superstar Arturo Vidal, James Rodriguez and Co. won’t find it any easier getting past La Roja.

The defending champions head into the semi-final on the back of an impressive 7-o win over Mexico. Juan Antonio Pizzi’s crew boast the highest number of goals in the tournament, alongside Argentina. Luckily for Colombia, their tally of 4 goals conceded in the group stage trumps that of Chile (5).

What does all of this mean? Don’t rule out a USA vs Colombia Copa America Centenario final.
