As the 2011/12 English Premier League season continues, leaders Manchester City are giving more reasons for Spurs to try their luck.
The top three zone in the Premiership is not Tottenham Hotspur’s usual place – especially not during the second half of the campaign. The reality, this year, is that the London club can optimistically dream about lifting the prestigious trophy in May.

Of course, Spurs need long-term consistency to achieve such a feat. In addition, they have to fight against the historical and financial power of England’s top teams. These include Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. The competition between the English Premier League’s top six contenders is tight – both in terms of points and mental strength.

USA vs Ecuador Report

Wednesday October 12 2011,
Tags: Ecuador, USA, Jaime Ayovi, Jurgen Klinsmann
Ecuador handed the USA a 1-0 defeat at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday night.
Jaime Ayovi scored the decisive goal for Ecuador when he rose above defender Tim Ream to head home a cross from his cousin Walter Ayovi.

The result leaves USA head coach Jurgen Klinsmann with just one win from his first five games in charge, and with a goals scored tally of two in five. His teams offensive inability must be of huge concern for Klinsmann who is noted for his attacking style of play.

The Americans started with a front pair of Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey, but the pair were bottled up very well by the Ecuador defensive pairing of Fricson Erazo and Eduardo Morante.

The first half saw both defenses very much on top, with the first clear chance coming as Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero skipped past Steve Cherundolo before firing wide.

USA vs Honduras Report

A first half goal by Clint Dempsey lifted the USA to a 1-0 win over Honduras on Saturday.
The game produced the first victory for USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann in his fourth attempt.

Things started slowly for the home side, and Honduras had the first goal scoring chance when Jerry Bengston raced clear but could not beat USA goalkeeper Tim Howard. Honduras continued to threaten, and in the 26th minute Howard saved well from Carlos Costly.

The USA responded well and took the lead nine minutes before half-time when Dempsey fired home from Brek Shea’s deflected cross.

After the interval Honduras pushed for an equalizer but were denied when Howard blocked a 52nd minute effort from Boniek Garcia.

Juventus’ new stadium: the Old Lady’s biggest reason and key to achieve success

Friday September 9 2011,
Tags: Juventus Arena, Juventus Stadium, Stadio Delle Alpi
The Juventus Arena, also called Juventus stadium, could give the Old Lady the perfect energy to hit great records and higher standards throughout the 2011/12 campaign.
Last year, things turned out really badly for Juve who had to play their home fixtures at the Stadio Olimpico. The following statistics can prove this fact: 19 home matches, 8 wins, 6 draws, 5 defeats, 35 goals scored but 31 allowed… clinching 30 points from a possible 57 is definitely not good enough for a team as illustrious as Juventus.

Now, meet Juventus’ new stadium. It has 41,000 seats and it’s built on the site of Delle Alpi’s ground. The name is the Juventus Arena.

It was designed by architect Hernando Suarez Gino Zavanella and cost around €105M to be constructed within a 2-year period. Among the facilities are 120 executive boxes, 3,600 premium seats, a 7/7 34,000-m2 shopping complex, a museum and a parking space wide enough to arrange 4,000 vehicles.

Martin Vasquez might not turn out to be the Ideal Assistant for Juergen Klinsmann

Tuesday September 6 2011,
Tags: USA, Belgium, Canada
Juergen Klinsmann recently announced that Martin Vasquez would be the assistant coach of the USA.
Klinsmann, as most fans know, was previously the coach of Bayern München. Klinsmann’s tenure lasted less than a season at the club with which he won the UEFA Cup as a player. The former striker was sacked after two embarrassing losses against VfL Wolfsburg and FC Barcelona.

Juergen’s assistant in those days was Martin Vasquez. Thus, most journalists must have winced slightly when they heard whom Klinsmann was hiring as his assistant. What must be said is Bayern was in the top three in the Bundesliga when the German was sacked. Also, Vasquez is a good friend of Klinsmann’s.

USA vs Belgium Preview

Sunday September 4 2011,
Tags: USA, Belgium, Jurgen Klinsmann
After losing 1-0 to Costa Rica recently, Jurgen Klinsmann and his men are preparing to affront Belgium. Kick-off time for this friendly fixture is at 11:30am PST, 2:30pm EST and 6:30pm GMT.
Tuesday’s encounter between USA and Belgium will mark both sides’ fourth meeting in history. It will be important for the Americans to record an emphatic victory like the 3-0 win they clinched 81 years ago when they first clashed against Belgium.

It may, however, be difficult for Jurgen Klinsmann’s team to bounce back following their Costa Rica defeat. The likes of Lukaku, Kompany, Thomas Vermaelen and Eden Hazard are set to make life tough for USA who are yet to win after the departure of Bob Bradley.

“What we need is that piece more of determination, being really hungry to finish it off and score,” Klinsmann believes.
