After spending tons of cash without results, LVG & Co. decided to leave the check book at home much to their fans dismay. Let's have a look at how other EPL sides acted.

The second transfer window of the season came to a close last Monday, and some fans may feel disappointed by how their clubs behaved during last month's dealings.

One fanbase that should feel disappointed is that of Manchester United. The Red Devils chose not to sign any new players, settling for Adnan Januzaj's return from Borussia Dortmund. Perhaps all those rumors about Louis Van Gaal's departure took a toll on the team's hopes of landing new talent, but having spent a massive amount of money in the past few transfer windows may also have urged Ed Woodward to avoid splashing cash all around.

On the other hand, Manchester City fans were given a late Christmas present when the team announced Pep Guardiola as their new coach for next season. The Spanish boss' arrival puts the Citizens as the frontrunners for every major signing next summer, considering Pep's reputation and stylish playing style. Nevertheless, we will still have to wait to see if Guardiola has what it takes to lead a third different team to local glory.
