After his disappointing season with Brendan Rodgers' squad, the Italian striker could be moving away from the Premier League this summer

Mario Balotelli's time with Liverpool may be running out. After a disappointing season with the Reds, which has included its share of controversy, the Italian striker could be making a move to play in the MLS, according to sources in the UK.

Balotelli is set to join the recently created Orlando City team, in which he would play alongside former Milan and Real Madrid midfielder Kaká. The MLS squad apparently has started negotiations with the player's agent, and it would be up to "Super Mario" to decide whether he wants to end his stint with the Reds.

Following a 16 million pound-deal during the summer transfer window, Balotelli's performance has been quite disappointing for Liverpool's faithful fans, who have only celebrated three goals by the Italian. Added to his poor form on the pitch, Balotelli was involved in several controversies concerning his social media accounts, including a taunt at Manchester United for losing a match against Leicester City, or his one-game ban for racial remarks against jews and Mexicans. His latest rant came on Thursday, after being subbed by Rodgers in the Europa League match tha saw Liverpool lose to Besiktas after a penalty shootout.

This summer, the Major League Soccer will add some European talent to their teams, following Steven Gerrard's signing with L.A. Galaxy, alongside Manchester City's Frank Lampard, who signed a two-year commitment with New York City Football Club.
