The Blancos manager was upset with his side's horrendous performance, and made no attempt to conceal this, lashing out at his team after the 4-0 loss to their city rivals.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was left in rage after his side succumbed to a 4-0 thrashing away to city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday, and did little to conceal it, ripping into Les Merengues and the entire squad after the historic defeat.

Goals from Tiago, Saul Niguez, Antoine Griezmann, and Mario Mandzukic sealed all three points for the home side in the latest edition of the Madrid derby, their first win over Los Blancos by such a scoreline in 38 years, dating back to the 1976-77 season.

After the final whistle brought an end to the Liga BBVA leaders' nightmare, Ancelotti hailed Diego Simeone's crew for what he called a “deserved” win, but bashed his own players for a "lack of motivation", lamenting Real Madrid's poor attack in the loss.

Despite welcoming back Cristiano Ronaldo to the squad after seeing out his two-match suspension, their "BBC" attacking trio failed to impress, only managing one shot on target in the whole 90 minutes.

"Atletico deserved to win. They beat us in every aspect; fight, play, organisation and second balls. Not one Real Madrid player did well," Ancelotti stated.

"We all failed. We all arrived second; we lost all of the tackles and all the aerial battles. We did not play the game at all. We were worse than Atletico at everything, but it's only three points.

"We must look at it over next days to determine why this happened. We are hurting a lot. Clearly we must change our attitude.

"The line-up was normal. It was the most clear and most logical team to play in this game, but the attitude and lack of motivation was a problem with everyone.

"It is not normal that Real Madrid play a game like this, so I must take responsibility for that and try to fix things quickly."

"We didn't have good possession," the Italian boss added. "We had nothing [in attack] today.

"We must weigh up in coming days why this happened, with calm and cool heads, and try to change things for future."
