Gareth Bale is back for Los Blancos after missing a handful of games. The Welshman had to witness El Clasico and other clashes as a spectator.

There’s good news for Real Madrid fans as Gareth Bale returns. Coach Carlo Ancelotti named the ex-Tottenham Hotspur player in his 19-man squad ahead of the Liverpool game on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League.

“Bale is fine. He's ready. He is back from his injury. I still haven't decided if he is going to start,” Ancelotti confirmed.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers is facing a difficult decision after seeing his side go down 1-0 against Newcastle United last weekend. The Merseyside Reds are chasing a Top Four finish in the English Premier League so their upcoming EPL clash against Chelsea is even more important.

However, they are also hoping to reach the knockout stages in the UEFA Champions League. Currently, they are struggling with only one win out of three matches. Taking this into consideration, strong rumours in the English press tell that Rodgers may rest both Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard for tonight’s game at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling

“In Steven’s case, if he is playing on Saturday I have to look at what is the priority for him and us,” he explained before adding:

“If we want to develop, we need to ensure we are in the top four. But we also want to qualify from this group and we will never know if these players can perform if we don’t put them in the team.

“Whether it is Real Madrid or Chelsea, I am putting my faith in these players. That is not being pragmatic. It is why you have a squad to come and get results.”

With the return of Gareth Bale and the possible absence of both Sterling and Gerrard, away fans at the Santiago Bernabeu will be hoping that Liverpool doesn’t suffer another disaster against Los Blancos.
