Tags: Liverpool, Steven Gerrard, EPL
Steven Gerrard continued his long awaited return from injury by netting Liverpool’s third goal as they beat Newcastle 3-1.
Newcastle had taken a first half lead through a Daniel Agger own goal, but two goals by Welsh striker Craig Bellamy put the Reds in charge. Gerrard then sealed the win with a good finish that lifted the roof off Anfield.

Liverpool dominated possession in the early stages without creating any clear cut chances, but the Magpes stunned Anfield by taking a 25th minute lead against the run of play.

Ryan Taylor’s probing cross was flicked on by Yohan Cabaye, and Danish defender Agger deflected the ball past Jose Reina and into his own net.

The goal brought an almost immediate response from Liverpool. Charlie Adam sent in a low cross that was only half cleared by Cheick Tiote. Bellamy seized upon the clearance, and beat Tim Krul with a low finish into the corner.

Liverpool's Steven Gerrard is very optimistic about the club's future. The skipper is seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
There have been so many taunts aimed at Liverpool down the years due to the Merseyside Reds’ inabiity to clinch a single English Premier League title since 1991. However, Liverpool are working towards a revival of the club and captain Steven Gerrard believes that the team’s progress has been rather positive under coach Kenny Dalglish.

Having failed to qualify for Europe, Liverpool will benefit from more time in a less tense football agenda next season. The English Premier League, the FA Cup (which they last won in 2005) and the Carling Cup will be at stake whereas there will be no UEFA Champions League or Europa League fixture in their schedule.

Arsenal Vs Liverpool: Dalglish Already Planning Big Ahead Of Next Season

Sunday April 17 2011,
Tags: Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard
Having been massively rejuvenated since the obvious arrival of Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool are already planning to battle for the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool have not won the English Premier League since their last triumph in 1990, which was con-incidentally under Kenny Dalglish. From then on, the Reds have undergone a roller-coaster ride that saw them even lift the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006.

However, considering that the circumstances at Anfield are back to a conventional mood, Kenny Dalglish is already planning well ahead for next season's aim and aspirations. Sir Alex Ferguson inevitably started his mind games by admitting that Liverpool must be considered as title challengers for next season after their impressive resurgence under King Kenny.

Why Liverpool Vs Manchester City Could End The Reds' European Dreams

Sunday April 10 2011,
Tags: Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Ian Ayre, Roberto Mancini
It will be a highly anticipated clash at Anfield tomorrow as Liverpool take on Manchester City, knowing that a defeat could very well end their European dreams.

Considering that even Tottenham Hotspur are not mathematically safe from relegation is something that virtually sums up a fantastic season of Premier League football that we have had so far. But things are not looking quite done yet for the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool as they continue their never-ending battle of securing a Champions League spot for next season.

Ever since the Arabians took over the throne at Eastlands, success in Europe has been their ultimate priority as they lavishly invested millions on new acquisitions in a bid to transform City into a global European powerhouse.

The impact of that spending has virtually made some real positive impact to be frank when it comes to City's improvement in the league standings. However, things are not quite done yet for Roberto Mancini and his team as they still face a tough fight in the ongoing battle for European spots.

Saturday April 9 2011,
Tags: Steven Gerrard, Kenny Dalglish, Andy Carroll
Liverpool can’t afford to feel the heat caused by Steven Gerrard’s injury, or they’ll end up in a total mess. The captain has been ruled out for the rest of the season, but the Reds must move on.
It’s important for Liverpool to earn a top-five finish in the English Premier League. There would be a reason to call anything less than such an achievement a failure. As Kenny Dalglish has set his target on European football, he is resolute to avoid being blown away by Steven Gerrard’s loss:

“It would be wrong for us to mislead anyone at this stage. It's a blow to have anybody out but we just have to get on with it,” Kenny told The Sun.

“Without any disrespect to the players who are injured, the most important ones are the ones who are fit because they are the ones who can be picked.”

Liverpool vs Manchester United: Steven Gerrard Out Due To Groin Injury

Sunday March 6 2011,
Tags: Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic
Only hours are remaining now for the Liverpool vs Manchester United match, but Captain Steven Gerrard’s excitement might not be at its top level, as he has been ruled out following an injury.
Gerrard reportedly suffered a recurrence of a groin injury on Saturday, which dramatically lowered his chances of leading his side at Anfield against Manchester United today. His presence would have obviously served as a big advantage for Liverpool, who still have a lot to fight for in the Premier League table, despite their poor start to the season.

Gerrard scored a double against the Red Devils back in September 2010, in the Reds’ 3-2 defeat at the Old Trafford. Kenny Dalglish’s side can however not afford to lose another 3 points, and thus, a rapid but effective solution will need to be applied by the Liverpool boss immediately.

"There are no hard feelings. I built up a relationship with Fernando and became his friend. He scored some fantastic goals and I have fantastic memories. I enjoyed playing with him. Steven Gerrard: Dalglish-Clarke-Lee Trio At Liverpool Is Very Helpful

Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard is excited about the entry of newly-appointed first-team coach Steve Clarke. He believes his partnership with Kenny Dalglish and assistant manager Sammy Lee will be a terrific one.
As a result of the Reds’ inefficiency this season, the staff decided to improve the strategic plans within the team by landing Steve Clarke as the man to support Coach Dalglish in his management. Liverpool To Get £500K Steven Gerrard Pay-Out

Liverpool might be without Steven Gerrard for at least 4 weeks following the captain’s injury while on international duty with England. In exchange, they are set to benefit from an amount of £500,000 as a pay-out from the English FA.
That piece of news broke out on Friday afternoon as the issue was confirmed. It has been reported that the money paid to Liverpool will rather come from an insurance scheme instead of coming directly from England’s FA.

That insurance scheme previously saw Spurs and Arsenal receive compensation for injuries picked up by Defoe and Walcott respectively. The case between Liverpool and England’s FA has perhaps been settled now through this pay-out deal.

Coach Fabio Capello also expressed his worry concerning the situation as he told the press:

Liverpool And Injured Steven Gerrard Pay For “Disgraceful” FA Idea

Steven Gerrard picked up a late injury in England's defeat to France on Wednesday. Now the Reds are fuming over the English FA’s management of fitness issues.
Liverpool are in a delicate situation where they cannot afford to lose their key players. Whereas Fernando Torres is working to reach top form, Roy Hodgson and the rest of his players will have to make do without the presence of the man that has been Liverpool’s best player this season by far: Steven Gerrard.

The Reds’ fitness coach, Darren Burgess, burst out in fury as his messages on social network Twitter threw insults at the English FA and the Three Lions’ manager, Fabio Capello. Burgess judged Capello’s decision to play Steven Gerrard as “amateurish” and that what happened was “unbelievable from all associated with England and English FA with regards to SGs (Steven Gerrard’s) injury.” More of his comments read:

Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium isn’t the best place for weakened teams to recharge their batteries. Arsenal and Manchester United can tell you just how much strength and luck is needed at times to triumph away to Stoke.

Now Liverpool are in a delicate situation presently, hanging on to their current top half position. Their defeat of Chelsea injected some much needed excitement among their supporters, but their very recent 1-1 draw away to Wigan Athletic has somehow brought disappointment once again.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, they couldn’t capitalize on Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland’s draw. Eventually, they still seat behind these two teams in 9th position with 16 points like 5 other English Premier League contenders.
