Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona Match Preview
Barcelona will be facing Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames in La Liga, hoping to make it 10 clean sheets in a row in all competitions.

Barcelona are favorites against Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona have not conceded a goal since their 2-2 away draw to Valencia on September 21. But they have not made the most of their record, drawing their vital home game with Sevilla last month.
With this being their third draw, the total amount of points collected in their other league matches is only enough to place them in second place - a point behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Unlike fourth place Levante, Athletic Bilbao are not the surprise package this season. They sit in ninth position with 13 points, having won only three encounters over ten played.
Their defence has also shown much weakness, with 12 goals conceded so far. This deficit at the back could greatly ease the battle for Barcelona, although that is only if Bilbao refuse to play a highly negative game.
Regardless of Athletic Bilbao’s strategy, Pep Guardiola’s men should still find a way to shake the back of the net. Fortunately for them, they have Messi, Fabregas and Villa ready to get in action.
Dani Alves, Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique and Eric Abidal should also form a resisting defence. The only bad news concerns the unavailable Pedro; Alexis Sanchez could make an appearance after his return in mid-week.
For the hosts Bilbao, Oscar De Marcos is expected to feature at the San Mames on Sunday evening. There are worries though over the availability of David Lopez - who recently suffered an ankle injury - and similarly, Borja Ekiz could start on the bench.
Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona Match Report
Barcelona failed to take away all three points at the San Mames, as they dramatically drew 2-2 with Athletic Bilbao.

Lionel Messi's late goal was not enough to give Barcelona a win over Athletic Bilbao.
The match started well for Barcelona, with Adriano quickly going for goal after only three minutes. Bilbao knew how rewarding it could be to prevent the Catalans from linking too well in the early stages, and they seemed to carry out their plan pretty well.
It was only after 13 minutes that Bilbao showed their intent of scoring through Ander. Although his powerful strike went straight into Valdes, he was not denied seven minutes later, when he brilliantly connected with a pass from Susaeta to spoil the visitors’ clean sheet record.
Barcelona responded four minutes later though, thanks to a header from Cesc Fabregas that flew into the top right corner of the net.
From then on, it became all about the Catalans. Fierce runs and dangerous moves from Messi suddenly placed Bilbao on the back foot.
Shortly after the half-hour mark though, the hosts began to get back into the game. They could not take back the lead though, and as a result of worsening weather conditions, both teams had to do with a 1-1 draw at half time.
Almost 10 minutes into the second half, Barcelona thought they had taken the lead. A goal from Lionel Messi nearly changed the match, but the Argentine was flagged offside.
The following moments in the match proved to be somewhat difficult for Barcelona, who were clearly struggling to cope with the disturbing weather. Still, they kept putting pressure on their opponents, but luck just wasn’t on their side.
On 80 minutes, they miserably let Bilbao jump in front for the second time. Eric Abidal’s efforts to clear the ball off Fernando Llorente pushed Gerard Pique to turn into a goal scorer during a corner, as the ball knocked his chin and crossed the line.
The heat then rose at the San Mames, and it was none other than Lionel Messi who closed the scoring sheet. An equalizing goal from the reigning FIFA Player of the Year in additional time helped Barcelona grab at least a point.
The Catalans eventually remain in second position, three points behind Real Madrid, who humiliated Osasuna 7-1 earlier in the day.
