Guadalajara vs Monterrey Match Preview
Guadalajara needs three points to assure qualification into the Clausura 2011 liguilla, and they will face the new CONCACAF Champions Monterrey after their big 1-0 victory at the Rio Tinto Stadium as enough to catapult them into the World Club Championship.
Although fatigue might play a factor for Chivas and against Monterrey, the Guadalajara side have been historically unable to beat the Rayados. The Victor Manuel Vucetich coached side will arrive at the Estadio Omnilife looking to wrap up three points that will give them better positioning within the quarterfinal pairings and thus avoid a more difficult rival.
Chivas will look to make only its second postseason appearance since 2007.
Erick Torres and Marco Fabian will battle it out to see if one can edge the other out for the team's highest scorer award. Torres and Fabian each have six goals despite not being present for all of the team's matches.
