Pumas UNAM vs Guadalajara Match Preview
A burgeoning classic takes place in Ciudad Universitaria Sunday afternoon as Pumas and Chivas face each other in Matchday 6.
Pumas, the current league leaders, have done just enough to get by in the Clausura, and with 11 points, lead the other 17 teams towards the Liguilla. Chivas' reality could not be more different: the 2-0 win vs. Atlante was their first this season, and only their third in the last 18 matches they've played, stemming all the way back to October of 2010.
Jose Luis Real was ratified as the team's manager a week ago, but a tough loss to Pumas and yet another game with little or no offensive production could see him walking a tight rope before he knows it.
Pumas remain without starting striker Juan Carlos Cacho, who is out with injury. The games between these two teams have been awfully close: out of the last 10 matches, there has only been one winner - Chivas beat Pumas 3-0 in the Clausura 2008.
