Sevilla vs Valencia Match Preview

Valencia visits the Sanchez Pizjuan this Monday in what could be a decisive game for both sides. Gregorio Manzano's Sevillistas are unbeaten at home so far and will be looking forward to leapfrog Real Sociedad and claim the last European place by Monday.

The hosts will be missing Tiberio Guarente, Abdoulay Konko and Jesus Navas while captain Antonio Palop is still struggling to recover from his injuries.

Midweek's sound victory 4-0 over Karpaty Lviv showed Sevilla is already recovered from the wounds inflicted by Barcelona 10 days ago at the Camp Nou, but it is yet to see how they perform against a rival of equal forces.

The visitors will be missing key players too for this clash: Argentinean international Ever Banega, Vicente and Marius Stankevicius are among the long list of injured players in Unai Emery's squad. Roberto Soldado and Artiz Aduriz will have to find a way to properly interact with Pablo Hernandez and Joaquin on the wings to break through Sevilla defense.

It's been over six years since Valencia lastly celebrated a victory in Sevilla. "statistics are there to be broken" said Valencia David Navarro. Champions League offered Valencia a chance for redemption and los Ches didn't hesitate on defeating Rangers 3-0.

This game will have a huge impact on the table standings. Sevilla can be left far too behind on the European chase upon a defea, will they send Unay Emery's boys back home empty-handed?
