Los Blancos look to shake of their shock Champions League loss when they return to action in La Liga on Saturday.

Wednesday saw 10-time Champions League winners Real Madrid fall to a shock and unexpected 2-0 defeat in Europe at the hands of Wolfsburg.

However, Los Blancos will look to wash away the bad memories and return to victory when they resume their Liga BBVA campaign on Saturday.

The Madrid giants will host Eibar, a side who sit six spots below in 9th position. Will it be an easy win for Zidane’s boys?

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

Unfortunately for Zidane, he’ll be without influential captain Sergio Ramos due to suspension, after picking up a red card in the 2-1 Clasico win over Barca last Saturday.

Raphael Varane remains on the sidelines as he is yet to recover from his calf injury, and will be joined by Karim Benzema (knee) after suffering a knock in the loss to Wolfsburg.

Over to José Luis Mendilibar’s side, and Josip Radosevic, Borja Ekiza, and Jaime are all injury doubts, with the latter not expected to feature in the weekend tie. However, both Ivan Ramis and Adrian return from suspension and are tipped for a starting eleven berth.

Head to head

Los Armeros’ record against Les Merengues put in one word is atrocious. Eibar have faced Real Madrid only three times in La Liga since securing promotion, and are yet to score against the Spanish giants, conceding 9 en route to 3 defeats.

Eibar, however, did share points with the Bernabeu side once in 2004, drawing 1-1 in a Copa del Rey encounter.

The away side will have to put everything they have, though, into stopping top-scorer Cristiano (29 goals) and a team who have netted 18 times in their last 5 Spanish Primera Division games.
