Didier Drogba scored a hat-trick on Saturday in the MLS against Philadelphia Union FC. The Ivorian has now scored two hat-tricks in his MLS career.
Ignacio Piatti, who was the main architect behind two of Drogba’s goals, also awarded himself with one goal. Montreal impact won the match 5-1.
Before scoring the hat-trick, the ex-Chelsea man had not found the back of the net for his side since May 28. He returned to action last week after missing three games due to a thigh injury. There were doubts over his fitness levels and ability to regain his goal-scoring form given the fact that he is 38 years old, but his return from injury proved his critics wrong.
