Ex-Arsenal player Patrick Vieira has praised Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, comparing the Argentine to the former Barcelona striker Thierry Henry.
Referring to Henry’s performance years back when he was at his best, Vieira stated that both superstars sat at the same level of greatness. The 34-year-old midfielder emphasized on the South American forward’s powerful abilities to lead his side to success through his wonderful individual contributions.

“Carlos is as good as Thierry Henry,” he affirmed. “They are different players but when you want to win trophies you need a striker who can score 20 to 25 goals a season.

Manchester City's Patrick Vieira has a lot of hopes for Manchester City's future. In the meantime, he is unsure about the Sky Blues' potential to win silverware.Large sums of money were splashed by Manchester City during the last transfer window period. David Silva, Mario Balotelli, James Milner and other players landed at Eastlands in the process to strengthen the club which is experiencing a revolution.

At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season, the Sky Blues affirmed their ambition of winning at least one trophy at the end of this term. Presently, they are in three competitions; clinching the Carling Cup trophy is out of the club’s plan following their exit at the expense of West Bromwich Albion a week ago.

As they seat 4th in the English Premier League and 1st in Group A in the UEFA Europa League, Manchester City as still very much in with a chance of gaining silverware this year. Besides, they are also yet to know where their destiny lies in the F.A Cup.

“Players always dream about playing with or playing against their heroes. For me, it’s the same thing with Vieira.

“It [Man City vs Chelsea] presents a great opportunity [to face Patrick Vieira]. But, whether I’m on the bench or on the pitch, I hope that we can get the better of him and of Manchester City.”
