Ramires featured for Chelsea in midweek as the Blues crashed out from the Carling Cup. Now, he's dreaming of facing his hero – Manchester City’s Patrick Vieira.

The Brazilian international and former Benfica may have the chance of playing against the ex-Arsenal, Juventus, and Inter Milan star when Chelsea affront the Sky Blues away from home on Saturday. As he looked forward to this prospect, Ramires was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website:

“Players always dream about playing with or playing against their heroes. For me, it’s the same thing with Vieira.

“It [Man City vs Chelsea] presents a great opportunity [to face Patrick Vieira]. But, whether I’m on the bench or on the pitch, I hope that we can get the better of him and of Manchester City.”

Like all the Chelsea players, Ramires is very much aware of Manchester City’s threat. The Blues are yet to suffer defeat in the English Premier League this season, but they’ll need to make sure they don’t stumble for the second consecutive time against City in Manchester. Adding more to his comments, Ramires stated:

“Obviously, I’ve been following them [Manchester City], just like the whole world does. That’s because of the strong investment they’ve been making, and because they’ve got a strong starting lineup with players that have international football experience.

“The Manchester City game will be a tough one, because they are at home in front of their own fans. But, at Chelsea, we know that we’ve got the capacity to go there and to win all three points.”

For the meantime, the match won’t be staged at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea rather have to think about dominating against the Sky Blues and the home crowd at the City of Manchester Stadium.
