"Money doesn't buy success", true or false? For Manchester City's Patrick Vieira, this season might not be the club's time yet to shine.

Manchester City's Patrick Vieira has a lot of hopes for Manchester City's future. In the meantime, he is unsure about the Sky Blues' potential to win silverware.Large sums of money were splashed by Manchester City during the last transfer window period. David Silva, Mario Balotelli, James Milner and other players landed at Eastlands in the process to strengthen the club which is experiencing a revolution.

At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season, the Sky Blues affirmed their ambition of winning at least one trophy at the end of this term. Presently, they are in three competitions; clinching the Carling Cup trophy is out of the club’s plan following their exit at the expense of West Bromwich Albion a week ago.

As they seat 4th in the English Premier League and 1st in Group A in the UEFA Europa League, Manchester City as still very much in with a chance of gaining silverware this year. Besides, they are also yet to know where their destiny lies in the F.A Cup.

 

However, experienced midfielder Patrick Vieira has doubts when it comes to City’s chances to enjoy cup glory anytime soon. The former Arsenal, Juventus, and Inter Milan player stated during a press conference ahead of the Sky Blues’ important UEFA Europa League match against Juventus on Thursday night:

“I don’t know if we are matured enough for major success. But, we are not missing any quality. It’s true that this team hasn’t exactly found itself yet. But, we are strong and we want to win.”

Who knows what Manchester City reserves for the public in the UEFA Europa League? The Sky Blues shocked Liverpool and Chelsea this season already, and perhaps these are signs of much better things ahead for the club and its fans. Tonight, can Manchester City embarrass another big club, in the name of Juventus?
