Arsenal legend and former England international striker Ian Wright says Everton manager Robert Martinez is the man to succeed the long-serving Arsenal caretaker Arsene Wenger. The former Arsenal striker believes that Wenger's time at the helms of the North London side is coming to an end an the ideal replacement would be the former Wigan boss.

These comments of the Wright comes after Martinez lead his side to a huge 3-0 win over Arsene Wenger's men in the English Premier League on Sunday which sees the Spanish manager's side remain only a point behind the Gunners and a top four spot.

Martinez has been enjoying a good couple of years as a manager in the English Premier league as he previously lead his former side Wigan to a FA Cup triumph, though they ended up being relegated, and is now leading his Toffees side to a top four finish and a Champions League spot.

“That's the kind of manager that you want, a good young manager that has proven himself tactically, he knows what he's doing,” said Wright.

"It's got to be that kind of man, Roberto Martinez, he's the perfect one. If someone was to ask me who I want, I'd say Roberto Martinez. That's the kind of manager you've got to be looking at to take Arsenal forward."

The Englishman also added:

"I feel that like a lot of people out there it is very hard to think of it [Arsenal without Wenger]. As they say on social media, be careful what you wish for, but we're in a situation now where Arsenal fans are starting to look into this massive void and it's not looking good."
