Tim Sherwood’s steady ship has become slightly unsteady; two nervous losses in the past week have left the fans a bit worried.

Preview: Can Tottenham turn the tie around?

Dnipro does not have domestic competition to worry about due to the current break and will thus come into this tie with a full set of players to choose from. Yevheniy Konoplyanka’s late penalty has left Tottenham with a deficit to overcome at home. A 1-0 loss to Norwich will not have helped their confidence. They sit six points behind Liverpool at this point in the Premier League table in fifth.

The goal of the season is to finish in the top four; the loss to Norwich will not have helped.
Sherwood can perhaps get the support of the crowd once again by helping his side turn the tie around at White Hart Lane. Erik Lamela, Kyle Walker, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Younes Kaboul, Vlad Chiriches and Etienne Capoue are all out for Spurs.

Thursday will be a special night at White Hart Lane as the fans will say goodbye to a very loyal servant in Jermain Defoe. The striker is currently injured; he will bid adieu to the club which he scored 143 goals for. His teammate, Kyle Naughton, had only good things to say about him according to Sky Sports:

“Defoe has been great for us while I have been here.

He's been great to play with, just to give him the ball and let him do the business. He's been a great finisher, he still is, and a fans' favourite. He will be missed.”

Also, Naughton mentioned that Spurs should not use their European adventures as an excuse for their poor league form as Sky Sports found out:

“We can't make excuses about playing in the Europa League. That's what we are in, we should have a big enough squad to deal with that and the Premier League.”

Can Dnipro shock Europe and move ahead to the next round? Or can Spurs turn it around on the day in which Defoe says goodbye?
