Fulham will host a rejuvenated Manchester United side at the Craven Cottage on Saturday, the 2nd of November, 2013.

Manchester United have a great record against Fulham in the English Premier League.Preview: Champions to extend unbeaten run to seven games

After a dismal start to life at new club, Moyes has seemed to stabilise things now unbeaten in the last seven games. After a horrid month of September which saw the defending champions lose thrice in the six matches they played, October proved to be more pleasant with the Red Devils not losing any of the six matches they played in the last month.

After a dramatic comeback against Stoke City in the Premier League last time out, Man United hammered Norwich City 4-0 in a Capital One Cup encounter and manager David Moyes has urged his team to maintain the momentum in the upcoming matches in order to close down the eight point gap which exists between them and league leaders Arsenal.

"It's a gap we have to try to work to get closer to," he said ahead of Saturday's visit to Fulham.

"We'll take one game at a time and try to start getting a bit closer to the top end. That's the plan but there's a long way to go.

"We've started to put together one or two half decent results and hopefully that starts to build up a bit of momentum.

"We've been a little bit up and down at the start of the season, winning one, losing one, so we're hoping to get a bit more consistency and then our form follows with that."

United’s Mexican star Javier Hernandez who has scored three in the last two matches for the Red Devils might have to settle for a place on the bench despite his good form, with talismanic striker Robin Van Persie poised to return from injury.

"Van Persie has been fine. He's trained well and worked quite well this week so hopefully he will be okay," Moyes added.

Fulham on the other hand will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss at the hands of Leicester which resulted in them being knocked out of the tournament. Prior to their league cup outing, the Cottagers were also humbled 2-0 by a very impressive Southampton side.

Their recent run of form comes as a surprise owing to the fact that prior to their match against Southampton; Martin Jol's men had scored consecutive victories over Stoke and Crystal Palace.
Their attacking display has been uninspiring this season, with a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace the only match the Lilywhites managed to score more than one goal. However Fulham will definitely be fancying their chances against a United defence which has been catastrophic as of late. Manchester United have leaked goals cheaply this season and have only managed two clean sheets in their nine league outings.

Fulham however have lost all of their last five fixtures against the reigning champions and the last time the cottagers got the better of United was back December 2009 when goals from Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff earned Fulham a 3-0 victory.

Martin Jol’s side will be boosted by the return of defender Brede Hangeland who will be vital in Fulham’s quest to cause an upset at the expense of Manchester United. The Fulham defence will have to be wary of Man United’s hardworking forward Wayne Rooney who has scored or assisted 11 goals in the last 15 away Premier League games. United’s number 10 also scored the only goal in this fixture last season as the Red Devils scored a 1-0 victory over Fulham.

Martin Jol will be without Matthew Briggs who has been ruled out with a groin problem whereas Hugo Rodallega is a doubt for the important match against United. David Moyes on the other hand has an almost full fit squad to his expense, with Danny Welbeck (knee) the only absentee.
