After serving a long ban due to his actions, Luis Suarez might come back to heap further misery on Manchester United in the Capital One Cup tie.
It is indeed all set up for a mouth-watering and nerve-racking 90 minutes (at least) as Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to face old foes Manchester United in the most glamorous ties of the third round of this season’s Capital One Cup. More gloss has been added with the return of Luis Suarez, a figure of hate in the red part of Manchester.

After serving a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, the Uruguay international is set to make yet another long-awaited return, much to the dismay of many Manchester United fans, most of whom are still finding it hard to come to terms with a 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday.

Although they lost 1-0 to Southampton which was their first defeat of the season, Brendan Rodgers’ side will surely be heading into this game looking to further add pressure on David Moyes’ shoulders whose start to his new job has not really being as promising as most would have thought it to be.

And, the return of Suarez means that the former Everton manager will have to devise a method to make sure that the former Ajax Amsterdam man is kept on the ropes.

After officially declaring his desire to leave the club during the summer transfer window and then not getting his wish despite the numerous approaches made by Arsenal, Suarez will be eager to move on from that whole scenario and once again get into the good books of fans who would definitely want their star player to play better than ever to prove a point.

Regardless of all his idiosyncrasies, Suarez is a player who thrives under pressure and is always at his best when the whole world is against him. And, that could be the kind of weapon Rodgers would be looking to make full use of as he looks to make it two wins out of two against the Red Devils so far this season.

Sunday’s defeat at the Etihad was another reminder of how tough things could be for Moyes. Following Sunday’s defeat, United would be eager to make amends and doing so against a team like Liverpool is exactly the kind of thing that could allay fans’ fear. Sir Alex Ferguson’s sides always responded well to adverse situations and now, it remains to be seen if the same can happen under a new manager.

United have quite a few injured players to deal with which means that Moyes might not be inclined on starting Nemanja Vidic and Ferdinand for the fourth consecutive game. Though winning against a team like Liverpool is exactly the kind of reaction he would be looking for, Moyes knows that fielding a very strong squad might be too risky for a side that is still finding it hard to establish itself in the league so far this season.

On the other hand, another defeat will increase pressure on the team and the manager which means that Moyes is experiencing a dilemma which is a first time for him.
