After suffering defeat in the hands of Belgium in late March, USA clinched a morale-boosting win over Germany last Sunday. Then again, the victory came against a very weak German team.  USA have conceded seven goals in their last two games which were international friendlies. Can the Americans improve on their defending abilities and beat a Jamaican side that fell 1-0 against Mexico lately? 

Speaking about El Tri, they have just won their first match of the year and of their entire 2014 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying campaign so far. Before this week's victory over Jamaica, they had played three World Cup qualifiers and drawn each of them. 

However, things change quickly in this six-team table. Suddenly, the Mexicans are on top of it with six points from four games whereas bitter rivals USA have fallen into the play-off spot. The Americans, though, could reach the summit with victory over the Jamaicans if Mexico and Panama succumb to a stalemate at the Rommel Fernandez stadium. 

The United States are sandwiched between Costa Rica and Honduras; all three teams are locked on four points but separated on goal difference. The Estadio Nacional in San Jose is set to produce fireworks as Los Catrachos are fiercely looking to make an appearance in Brazil next year.
