Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs has been rested for this weekend’s Arsenal vs Manchester United encounter. However, Dimitar Berbatov has recovered from his groin injury...
A solid Manchester United side—inspired by the great works of Chicharito, Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs—honoured the colours of the Red Devils earlier in midweek as Schalke experienced an embarrassing 2-0 defeat in Europe.

But Alex Ferguson is now set to make a few changes to that team ahead of Arsenal vs Manchester United. The Old Scot revealed his idea of dropping Giggs to The Guardian with Champions League football returning next week.

“We look after him [Ryan Giggs] in terms of rest before games,” Fergie said as he explained one of the reasons behind the player’s consistency on the fitness front.

“He won’t be playing on Sunday [against Arsenal]. He will maybe play next Wednesday. That’s the way we have to deal with him now.

“When he gets that freshness, he doesn't show any sign of fatigue at all. He is an amazing man.”

Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher might have to wait until next week to find a place in Manchester United’s roaster—having successfully gone through 45 minutes of reserve team action on Thursday night. Alex Ferguson commentated on Fletcher’s condition by telling The Sun:

“Darren came through [reserve team football] last night fine. He is progressing and it’s possible we could include him on Wednesday for another 45 minutes.

“It’s good that he is back. He’s put his weight back on. He’s worked hard in the gym. He is a great addition to the squad.”

While Nani’s inclusion as a starter against Arsenal still in doubts, questions about Dimitar Berbatov’s role have been answered. The Bulgarian has finally overcome his injury worries as Ferguson confirmed:

“Dimitar is fit again. He had a slight groin strain, but he has trained all week.”

Manchester United are 6 points clear at the top of the English Premier League table. Whereas they are seen as clear favourites to bag their 19th league cup, the prospect of a dramatic downfall remains more or less alive and the Gunners stand a chance of denting the Red Devils hopes. Arsenal vs Manchester United will reveal a lot about the Reds situation at the top of the standings.
