The Red Devils will aim to progress to the semi-finals of the cup competition with their third win over the Canaries this season.

Match preview

Manchester United travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City in a single-leg FA Cup quarter-final tie on Saturday. The high-flying Red Devils will be hoping to extend their impressive unbeaten run while progressing to the next stage of the competition with a win in the evening's encounter.

Recent months have brought success stories to the Old Trafford outfit who is currently unmatched in the English top-flight in terms of form. The team has not put a foot wrong in 13 games, winning nine and drawing the remaining four.

As far as Manchester United's record in the FA Cup goes this season, the club has secured wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tranmere Rovers, and Derby County in the buildup to Saturday's tie. Having already thumped Norwich 3-1 in Norfolk, followed by a 4-0 thrashing in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, the Red Devils should be hopeful about their chances.

For the Canaries, the clash presents yet another daunting test considering the almost negligible spikes of success they have enjoyed. They have managed just seven wins in their last 30 appearances in all competitions, three of which have come in their last 10 outings.

The resumption of the league season has also been unkind to Daniel Falke's men who seat at the base of the Premier League table. They have picked up three defeats in a row; a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United, a 3-0 loss to Southampton, and another 1-0 slump to Everton.

Relatively, their form in the FA Cup could be enough motivation going into Saturday's clash, having secured wins over Tottenham, Burnley and Preston Northend in reverse order.

Team news

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should rotate his squad for the clash with Norwich following the mid-week's triumph against Sheffield United. The likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, and Bruno Fernandes could all be rested ahead of the Premier League trip to Brighton.

Jesse Linger could earn a starting berth for the first time after the season was restored, having missed the encounter due to an illness. Meanwhile, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are still unavailable for selection as they are yet to recover from injuries.

For Norwich, Teemu Pukki should feature in the staring lined up after being dropped against Everton. Marco Stiepermann could return to action for the first time since being cleared of having Covid-19.

Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann, and Sam Byram are all out of contention with injuries.
