Chelsea and Spurs’ fates seem inextricably linked this entire season. They have recorded 2 draws in their 2 meetings this season. In the Premier League, they are separated by 2 points only.
Chelsea have dropped from 5th place to 6th, courtesy of emerging thorn in the side Newcastle United. Alan Pardew’s men are mounting a strong push for a place in Europe and with Arsenal seemingly locking down that 3rd spot, both of these teams will have to play every remaining game as if it were a cup final.

“Fabrice Muamba remains in intensive care at the London chest hospital where his condition is serious but stable. He continues to make encouraging progress in his recovery,” according to a statement from Bolton Wanderers and the hospital.
“Because Fabrice is getting better, that allows us to play the match [against Spurs]. If it was different circumstances, it might be a different conversation,” coach Owen Coyle explained in an encounter with the press on Monday.

Chelsea lost their midweek meeting to Man City but only just as Spurs drew with Stoke. Tottenham have yet to win a premier league game in 2012 so they have chosen the wrong time to go through a blip. Everyone’s talking about it. It’s impossible to analyse issues at Chelsea without mentioning the sack of Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese manager was on a three-year contract but his spell at the club suffered a brutal end on Sunday, March 5.
Under AVB, the Blues failed to defeat Birmingham City at Stamford Bridge. Murphy stunned the home crowd with a goal in the 20th minute and Daniel Sturridge replied with a second half strike. A 2-0 win over Stoke brought United level on terms with City in the title race- the only competition they realistically have a chance to win this season.

A top side always looks to ensure wins in two domestic competitions. In England, there are three- the Premier League, FA Cup and Carling Cup. The Premier League and FA Cup reign over the Carling Cup in terms of importance. This season, United is not in the Carling Cup or FA Cup.
As the ball sailed past David De Gea in the dying minutes in the FA Cup, United fans knew that dreams of a cup victory would have to be pushed back at-least up to mid 2013. De Gea must have felt his own dreams of becoming a hero at United sink away with his side’s cup dreams.
Super-sub Dirk Kuyt scores late winner as Liverpool defeat arch-rivals Manchester United to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Reds followed up booking their tickets to the Carling Cup final with progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a late winner from Dutch midfielder Dirk Kuyt to secure a 2-1 win over Manchester United in Anfield on Saturday.
The highly anticipated clash commenced at a frantic pace, as both teams tried their best to gain possession of the ball. Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia was the most dangerous player on the park in the first period, and he almost put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute when his 18-metre drive struck the left post.
Four minutes later Daniel Agger went a step better, when he rose to head home a Steven Gerrard corner-kick to open the scoring for Liverpool.

Liverpool and Manchester United will lock horns in what is expected to be a fiercely-contested FA Cup fourth round tie in Anfield on Saturday.

The clash will mark the first time the teams face one another since Liverpool's Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was banned for eight matches after being accused of racially abusing Manchester United left back Patrice Evra in October.
The eagerly-awaited contest is expected to be fought out right until the death, as the fierce rivals will do their utmost to inflict defeat upon one another.
What adds an extra dimension to the clash is obviously the race row conflict concerning both sets of teams, although both clubs have played their part to ensure that the match doesn't continue to play a secondary role.
By the time Arsenal will play on Sunday, only one team between Manchester United and Liverpool will remain in the 2011/12 FA Cup.

They are poised to beat QPR even in the absence of African stars Drogba and Kalou.
At 7:45am and 12:45pm GMT, Anfield will once again transform into the center of attraction as Liverpool will host Manchester United.
Liverpool is on a high after reaching the Carling Cup final and will have their sights set on knocking out their major rivals Manchester United from England’s other cup competition.

Liverpool claimed a major scalp by knocking Manchester City out of the Carling Cup. They achieved the feat over two legs. In the first leg at the Etihad Stadium, Kenny Dalglish’s side showed great determination. City kept knocking on the door throughout the match but Liverpool defended with great strength and kept them out. A Steven Gerrard penalty saw them win the game.
In the second leg, Liverpool started well and tried to defend their lead. In the second half, City took a 2-1 lead and had the tie wrapped up. Liverpool nonetheless is a gritty team in their own backyard and scored an equalizer via a man who has been the hero on the field and a villain off it multiple times in his career, Craig Bellamy. They won the tie, 3-2, on aggregate.
