The Merseyside club will look into the abuse that happened moments after the nerve-wracking injury suffered by André Gomes.

The incident between Son Heung-Min and André Gomes sparked all sorts of reactions, but one of those was totally uncalled for...and it happened moments after the gruesome injury suffered by the Portuguese player.

According to a report by The Independent, there was a racial slur involving the South Korean ace and one of Everton's supporters, who allegedly mocked the Asian footballer's ethnicity with a gesture caught on camera.

Regarding this issue, a spokesman for Everton admitted that the club will look into it.

"Everton is investigating an alleged incident of racist behavior by a supporter attending Sunday's fixture against Tottenham. Everton strongly condemns any form of racism. Any such behavior has no place within our stadium, our club, our community or our game," a couple of tweets by Everton Fan Services read.

Premier League is trying to erradicate rising racial insults around the league, with this being the latest incident where a player is reportedly the target of such actions.
