The Gunners will be looking to end their two-game winless run in the league when they host Jimenez and Co. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Arsenal compared to Wolves?

Arsenal are in a slump and without a win in their last two league games. The Gunners head into this game on the back of their Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool and 2-2 capitulation at home to Crystal Palace in the Premier League, losing 1-0 to Sheffield prior to that. This means the north London have won only twice in their last five games in all competitions after winning four out of the five preceding that.

As for Wolves, they too suffered a League Cup defeat on Wednesday, going down 2-1 at Aston Villa. That’s their only defeat in their last five games, but that run consists of only two wins. In all fairness, though, one of those victories was the 2-0 triumph away to Man City.

Arsenal vs Wolves head-to-head record

The Gunners are winless in their last two encounters with Wolves, drawing 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium last season before losing 3-1 away in their second encounter. Regardless, Arsenal still boasts the superior head-to-head record.

Team news

Reiss Nelson is the only injured player for Arsenal ahead of Saturday’s game. All eyes will be on his team selection, though, and whether Granit Xhaka will feature or be left out after his incident with the fans in the draw with Palace.

The Swiss midfielder was booed, which resulted in him goading the supporters and cupping his ears before ripping off the jersey and marching straight down the tunnel after being subbed off. He has since issued a statement but there remains no word on whether he will be given time off or if he will even remain as captain.

Mesut Ozil has made a case to return to the squad after a fine display in League Cup defeat at Liverpool. The German playmaker, who has found playing time hard to come by this season, was taken off at the hour mark, with Emery hinting at his participation this weekend.

The biggest news surrounding Wolves is the loss of Willy Boly. The center-back has been ruled out until the New Year.
