Michael Owen has been ruled out of Saturday’s Manchester United vs Crawley Town due to injury. The serial crock will have to watch his side’s FA Cup match from a distance.
Wearing the famous number 7 jersey has apparently brought no luck for Michael Owen. His injury worries and his lack of playing time have miserably shaped his career at Old Trafford.

The only good news is that his groin problem will not keep him out on the sidelines for the rest of the season as it was initially feared. Michael Owen is expected to be back to fitness as early as next week.

Coach Alex Ferguson is even thinking of doing justice by featuring him against Olympique Marseille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. On Friday, The Sun quoted Fergie as explaining:

“Michael suffered a small injury during the week which will force him out tomorrow. It is disappointing because I was going to play him.

“But, there is no point taking a risk. He could be available for the Marseille game on Wednesday.”

Besides missing Michael Owen for Saturday’s FA Cup match against Crawley Town, Manchester United will also be without Antonio Valencia. The Ecuadorian broke his leg against Rangers in the UEFA Champions League back in September and he still has a way to go before being cleared from his fitness troubles.
