Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he has been unfair with Michael Owen after there were several reports of interest from Australia
Reports have stated that Newcastle Jets are very interested in making Michael Owen an icon of their team. The Jets have a millionaire owner who is eager to boost the club's stature by bringing in a well known player.

Michael Owen has had very limited opportunities at Old Trafford this season with the emergence of Javier Hernandez and the resurgence of Dimitar Berbatov. Owen has started just four games so far this season, yet he has still managed to bag four goals, the latest beginning the FA Cup comeback at Southampton a fortnight ago.

Now that the season is entering a very crucial stage where the final push begins, Sir Alex will acknowledge the fact that Owen's predatory instinct in the box could very well be useful for the whole team.

"I keep trying to get myself into a situation where I can play Michael Owen more often,'' said Ferguson.

”I haven't been completely fair that way. He is a terrific trainer and every time I play him he never lets me down.''

Considering what an impact Hernandez has already made, it its quite obvious that Chicarito often gets the nod ahead of Owen. But Sir Alex knows that he would need Owen somehow rather later.

"Michael is a phenomenal player in and around the box,'' said Ferguson.

”You can make similarities in physique to Javier Hernandez. In and around the box, both of them are very dangerous players. The advantage we have with Michael on the run-in is that he has terrific big-game experience. It could prove very important to us.''
